Meet the Pro

Roger King was named the Head Professional at the CC of Barre in 2002.   He came to Barre from Kernwood Country Club in Salem, Massachusetts where he was an Assistant Professional.  Prior to Kernwood, Roger was an  Assistant Professional at Waterville Country Club in Waterville, Maine and also at Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester, Massachusetts.  He has worked in Florida over the winters at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach and at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  Roger has been in the golf business for 10 years and has been a PGA Member since 1996.  He has been active in the NEPGA, having served as Co-chairman of the NEPGA Assistants Association from 1999 - 2001.

Roger and his wife Alison are making their home in the Barre area.

About the Course

Country Club of Barre was built in 1924 and 9 holes were added in 1967.  The semi-private course has hosted many VGA and NEGA events through the past 10 years.  A four star rating by golf digest and a "Hidden Gems" label by Vermont Golf Magazine bears proof of a great golfing experience.  Lush fairways, fast greens and immaculate maintenance by course Superintendent Bill Evans await the serious golfer.  Spectacular views of central Vermont also await your next round.
