About the
Course
Burlington Country Club is an 18
hole bent grass private course in right in the heart of Burlington. It was
built in 124 and designed by Donald Ross. It has long had the
reputation of being one of the premier courses in the State of Vermont.
Three years ago, the club closed down for a full year to rebuild all of their
greens. They hired Dr. Michael Hurdzan, one of America's foremost experts
on golf course architecture and environmental design, to mastermind the effort.
If Dr. Hurdzan's past work is any indication, then these new greens should be
some of the finest greens in the state. The course reopened in 1999
and the general reaction is that the members are very pleased with the new
greens and they feel that an extra dimension has been added to what is already
known as a fine course.
