KILLINGTON VERMONT TO HOST JUNIOR GOLF EVENTS
KILLINGTON— Some of the nation’s best junior golfers will be in
Killington the first week of August for the Killington Junior Golf
Championship, sanctioned by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA)
and held at The Green Mountain National Golf Course. In addition to the
AJGA event, The Vermont Junior Open tournament will be held on Monday
and Tuesday, August 2-3, hosted by the Killington Resort Golf Course.
This event will be open to non-qualifiers of The AJGA event as well as
junior golfers that are not members of the AJGA. “We want to provide a
first class golf event for the players who come to town, but do not
qualify for the AJGA event, as well as junior golfers who are not AJGA
members,” said Dave Pfannenstein, Killington Resort’s PGA Director of
Golf. “We want people to be able to stay around for the week, play in
our event, and experience all the wonderful summer activities Killington
has to offer.
The field for The Vermont Junior Open, hosted by The Killington Resort
Golf Course, will be limited to 120 players. The event consists of 36
holes of stroke play competition over two days. Golfers will include
both girls and boys, ages 12 to 19. For further information or to
register please visit

“This is a tremendous opportunity for the Town because in addition to
the golfers attending the tournament, we are jointly marketing The
Killington area with it’s lodging, dining and summer activities,” said
Seth Webb, Killington Director of Tourism and Economic Development.
“Each player is accompanied by friends and family, so the town can
expect a busy week.”
